I'm not sure about you, but none of the local stores ever carry christmas cupcake boxes inserts. I found a way to make my own on the cheap because the inserts that come with the boxes at my Walmart can be a bit expensive. These items are always available for online ordering, but to be honest, there are moments when I simply don't plan ahead and need them right away. This tutorial is fantastic because you can make the inserts to fit any size cake or cupcake box that you happen to have lying around. It really will fit any kind of box you own.You won't have to worry about your christmas cupcake boxes falling over when you're on the go thanks to these inserts. It's also a convenient way to keep your cupcakes covered and fresh even if you don't intend to travel with them. Put an end to your cupcakes being ruined by plastic wrap!Alright, this project is fairly inexpensive to complete because you'll be using plain poster board, and you can probably get several sets out of a single poster board.

Cupcakes And Homemade Cupcake Box Inserts

Now, let's begin the tutorial. I've included some screenshots of the entire process along with notes, but to see it come together, make sure to watch the video below I receive compensation for qualifying purchases as an Amazon Associate.ESSENTIALS REQUIRED FOR THE HANDY CUPCAKE BOX INSERTS:Poster Board (you can choose any color)

The box that you intend to use (you can use any size that you desire)Use the round circle cutter to trace around. I cut round circles with a 2 ½ inch cutter, which works well for a typical cupcake. A set of circle cutters is available here: Set of Circle CutterExacto Knife Ruler (I used an acrylic one since it's big, transparent, and very useful). Here is where you can get one similar to mine: Acrylic Ruler Scissors

The Handmade Cupcake Box Inserts:

You must first locate a box. Any box you have will do. Using a cake/cupcake box I purchased from Michael's craft store, I used it.cupcake container Place the box on top of your poster board. On the poster board, trace the perimeter of the box.drawing a circle around the container Mark an inch all the way around the line you just traced with your ruler now.

putting a one-inch marker around the cupcake box's racing line.Ensure that you carry out this action throughout.trace a circle one inch around the drawn line. Now, at the location you just marked, draw a straight line with your ruler.drawing a poster board straight line Cut outside of the line.Make four cuts along that outer line.slicing the poster board around the outside edge in order to insert the cupcake boxes.

Remove all of the corners.

For The Cupcake Inserts, Trim The Poster Board's Corners.

For the cupcake inserts, cut out the poster board in all four corners.Using your circle cutter, cut around it as many times as it will fit, or until you have the number of cupcakes you need to Christmas Box.To create the cupcake inserts, trace around the circle cutter.Using your exacto knife, make incisions in every circle. Mine is sliced like a pie.Make cuts in the circles to serve as inserts for the cupcake boxes. After tracing around the box, take the ends of your insert and fold them in along the inside line.
