My Grandmother Uses A Shoebox To Bake Her Christmas Box Cake

 My grandmother told me that she bakes her Christmas Box Cake in shoe boxes sometimes. Lucky for me, she was busy wrapping her christmas box cake when I went to see her yesterday. I've never seen this famous "shoe box cake tin." Surprise, surprise—there was a shoe box on her stove when I walked into the kitchen to make tea. When I looked inside, there were no shoes there, just cake bits.This shows that not having a tin is not a reason not to bake. Also, my grandmother bakes a lot in a cookie tin. She cuts seven layers of greaseproof paper to fit and sometimes adds two layers of tin foil (see picture below). Then she uses clothes pegs to hold the paper to the box while she pours the batter into it.  Since Thanksgiving Christmas Box Gift music has been playing nonstop, and I'm really feeling the holiday mood. I love the holidays because my name is Holly. I like decorating our house every year by adding some new pieces along with things that have been there for years. Sometimes it's fun to find new ways to use old things. This year, my mantel is a great mix of new and old! A two-pack of christmas box gift from Dollar Tree with copies of Saturday Evening Post covers set the mood. I thought they looked old and would be great as a base for a do-it-yourself project. This year I've really liked the trend of picture frames that look old. A copy of the Declaration of Independence was the first thing I tried to make for my 4th of July fireplace. I loved how it turned out so much that I thought it would be fun to do it again with gift boxes.First, I didn't have to use a saw because I bought a box of 12" wood slats from Hobby Lobby. These have already been sanded down well; all they need is stain. If you'd rather, you can leave them raw wood. This is the Premium Fast Dry Ipswich Pine Varathane that I used. It's been fun to use this colour. 

I Mixed It With Another Stain To Make Plates Out Of Wood.

To be safe, let the slats dry for a few hours. Next, I hot-glued the wood slats to the top and bottom of each gift box top with my favourite New Year's gift, a portable Ryobi glue gun. These christmas box gift were bought at christmas box gift. It only cost $1 for two! That is a good price for art! Ten minutes should be enough time for the glue to dry. Then, I did something a little different from the last time I worked on these old poster frames: I asked my husband to help me drill holes in the top slat. You could use hot glue instead, but I liked how the tied string knots looked better.Just add the amount of basic jute twine you want, and you're done!

There's something about plaid that makes me happy, and when I saw these cute plaid houses at Walmart, I had to have them. For some reason, I can't find a link online. However, I saw some left over at my store last week. They also had cute striped deer that were only a few dollars each.Every time I make a fireplace, I try to look around our house and find new ways to use things I already have. You can see how I did it with Valentine's Day and Halloween too! I've had the fun cloth trees for a long time and put them in with the houses. A friend also gave me some fun new trees for my birthday that worked great. The window showed up again, but this time it was in a different place! This week we put up the tree, I started shopping for gifts which was easy because I planned ahead, but I know some of you start months early  and I decorated the house. As December starts, the food season really starts to come alive. You can see mince pies, christmas cake box and Christmas puddings everywhere. While many people make their christmas cake box months ahead of time, don't worry if you're not as ready. You still have time; you haven't missed the boat! You can make the cake sticky and rich by adding treacle to it. Feeding the cake every few nights will keep the sponge juicy and boozy. Tala is one of Britain's oldest cookware names and a master of bakeware and icing. They helped me write the recipe. They just came out with a beautiful new range called Indigo and Ivory 

That Is Great For Making And Storing Your Christmas Cake Box

Every year I love adding something new to my christmas cake box but it has to be something easy. I don't know about you, but I get so busy the week before christmas cake box that it's hard to find time to decorate in a big way. Simple but effective, I chose a winter dream scene this year. The snowflakes are punched out of Tala's clever cutters and the trees are piped royal icing onto ice cream cones. Who knew that an ice cream cone could be so useful in the wintThe sponge on the bottom is a dark fruitcake full of dry fruits that have been soaked in reacle and brandy. To get that lovely, strong taste, always use the best you can find and soak them ahead of time.

 A Winter Paradise Christmas Cake Box

Mix the dried fruits and mixed peel in a big bowl the day before you bake the cake. Then, add the brandy, orange zest, and juice. Put the lid on and let it sit overnight to soak in.

Warm the oven up to 150°C (gas mark 2) and line a round 20cm cake tin with two layers of baking paper, leaving a few centimetres of space at the top.Mix the dark brown sugar and butter until they are light and fluffy. You can do this by hand or with a stand mixer. Put the eggs in one at a time, beating well after each one. Add the milk and treacle and beat well.

Once everything is well mixed, add the flour, baking powder, mixed spice, and ground almonds. 

Mix Just Until Everything Is Well Mix Ed. 

Add the fruit that has already been soaked and any liquid used for soaking. Mix the fruit in well until it is all mixed in.Place the mix into the Christmas Packaging Boxes pan that has been lined. Use a spoon to make the top smooth. Turn it over every 45 minutes to make sure it bakes evenly, and cover it with foil if it looks too dark. Bake for 1 hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours. Stick a knife into the middle of the cake to see if it's done. A few bits should stick to it, but there shouldn't be any raw dough.Let the cake cool all the way in the pan before taking it out, poking holes in it all over with a stick, and pouring brandy over it. Place tightly wrapped in foil and parchment paper in a cool, dark place. Feed it every 4 to 5 days until you're ready to paint.When you're ready to finish your work of art, spread warm apricot jam all over the cake.2. Make the marzipan into a circle big enough to cover the cake's top and sides. Place it on top of the cake and smooth it out with your hands.3. When you roll out the sugarpaste, it should be the same size as the marzipan. Brush a little water on the marzipan, and then put the fondant layer on top of it. Press down on both to make them stick together. Cut off the extra.4. Put a small star-shaped tip on a pipe bag and fill it with royal icing. Start at the base of the cone and pipe small stars all the way around it. Cover the whole cone as you work your way up. Put them on the cake after letting them set.

The last time I showed you how to use all the small dies that come with the Cupcake Box die. Then I realized I should have started at the beginning and shown step-by-step how to put the box together. Not that it's hard, but it is! Of course there are other ways to do it, but this one works for me.You will need these things for this project: Only 660020 for the Sizzix Big Shot Plus Machine Cake 660842 from the Sizzix Thinlits Plus Die Set 19PK - Box It only takes two A4 pieces of card and some glue.For the largest die, cut out two pieces (bottom left and right), one base (center top), and one cupcake base (left and right). All of it can be cut out of two A4 cards, and there will be extra copies.

Before you glue, make sure you fold all of the lines that you scored. It makes a big difference when putting it together. Now is the time if you wanted to die cut a hole. Frosted Sugar Cake Box Christmas Cookies

My kids have been requesting to decorate sugar cake box christmas cookies for weeks, so this was a must for our cookie box. We used a basic sugar cookie recipe and tried buttercream (without the freeze-dried fruit) and also used a tube of Betty Crocker quick frosting to get the super white cookies. We constructed green trees and white trees and snowflakes with candy cane sprinkles and stars with sprinkles. And then we filled our stomachs with all the cookies that didn’t end out cute ;) BTW these naturally-colored sprinkles are wonderful for decorating! Those were our favorites from this year’s cookie box. I’m going to keep my eye out for a new gingerbread cookie recipe (this one wasn’t a keeper) and I want to attempt thumbprints with our handmade jams using fruit from the Farmhouse because I love a treat with a feeling of place. We opted to create it ourselves since I couldn’t locate something that I loved. It’s simple construction of wood lath from Home Depot built with a brad nailer and linked with beautiful hinges.  Hello, Stampers. Welcome to Stampin Large Christmas Gift Boxes November 2018 Blog Hop. We've finished our holiday cards. It's time to get wrapping and gift-giving started. Today, let the Stampin' Pretty Pals' "Anything But A Card" inspire you.You might be arriving from a previous Pal's blog or beginning the hop here. In either case, you've arrived at the ideal location. The complete lineup is provided below to assist you in moving, or "hopping," from Pal to Pal. Using the large letters framelit dies and Lindor truffles (which could also be Ferrero Rocher or any other round coated candy about that size), my project is a large christmas gift boxes that reads.Using Stampin' Up! large christmas gift boxes with a large letter framelit Dies Ho Ho Ho by Queen B Creations, designed by Lisa Ann Bernard.The top, bottom, and insert of the box are constructed from Real Red CS.  I cut a piece of Real Red CS 4 1/8′′ x 10 1/8′′ for the box top. 

This Piece Was Burnished With A Bone Folder After It Was Scored  On All Sides.

I then cut the corners off and attached the tabs to the side that was next to it. An 8 1/4 x 2 1/4 CS layer of Basic Black CS and an 8 x 2 CS layer of Real Red CS are used to embellish the top of the box.  I used Versamark ink to stamp the greeting and snowflakes from the Snowflake Sentiments stamp set. To keep the powder from sticking in unwanted places, remember to use the embossing buddy.  After adding the Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder and using the heat tool to heat it up, I tapped off any excess.Using Stampin' Up! large christmas gift boxes with a large letter framelit Dies Ho Ho Ho by Queen B Creations, designed by Lisa Ann Bernard.A 5 × 11-inch sheet of Real Red CS was used to make the box bottom. The four sides were scored at a distance of 1 1/4 from each other. I cut off the corners and glued the tabs to the sides that were adjacent.

Using Stampin' Up! large christmas gift boxes with a large letter framelit Dies Ho Ho Ho by Queen B Creations, designed by Lisa Ann Bernard.A piece of Real Red CS measuring 3 3/8′′ by 9 3/8′′ was used to make the insert, and it was scored at 1/2′′ from each of the four sides. I used the Big Shot and the Large Letters Framelit dies to die cut three "H" letters out of gold foil paper. Using the Big Shot and two of the circle dies from the Layering Circles Framelit Dies, the "O" letters were cut out of gold foil paper. I marked the locations of each "O" with a pencil after placing the letters onto the insert to decide where they would go.  I next made a hole in the insert where each "O" will be by using the smaller of the two circular dies that I used to create the "O." Liquid adhesive was then used to adhere each letter to its position. I then cut the corners off and attached the tabs to the sides that were next to them. A glue dot on each end is used to secure the Lindor truffles in place, and they are adhered behind each "O" in the insert.  The insert was inserted into the box without the need for adhesive.

Minute Organizing Storage For Christmas Ornament Boxes

 I wait and wait and wait every year, but the Christmas Ornament Boxes Fairy never comes to get all of our christmas ornament boxes tubs out of storage. You know what? I wait and wait, but the Christmas Fairy never comes to put everything away either! It turns out that every Christmas, I'm the one who has to drag the tubs in and out of storage. That's why I chose to try to make the whole process easier this year.Go to the Bankers Boxes. 

Banker Boxes Are The Source.

If you don't know what these are, they are strong boxes with handles that can be stacked heavy. Because they are made to hold old files and papers, they are very easy to move and can hold a lot of weight. I bought two packs of ten. They came flat and were simple to put together when they got to me. It cost about $35 for all twenty of my boxes. It's annoying to have to pay for boxes, but I see it as an investment in every December to come! I looked around and bought mine at Walmart. They came christmas ornament boxes in a couple of days and the shipping was free. I was SO sick of the christmas ornament boxes things that were thrown into tubs that didn't match and weighed a million pounds each. It got so bad that I didn't even want to get some of the tubs out this year. I was bored. The good thing about these boxes is that I'm very clear about how I want to arrange them. As a side note, I also saved all of the air pillow packing inserts that came with our December Amazon orders. I took off one side, broke them up into small sleeves, and used them to hold trinkets. It's great that I can see everything in clear bags (as long as they don't break), and I love that I can return these! Most of our items won't break (that's one of the risks of having little ones), so I don't need anything extra to store them. I had to clean out my tubs and get rid of a lot of things I didn't use this year because of this. I want to make pretty stickers for each box, but that might have to wait until next year.
